Sharitive’s mission is to create new funding and resources for critical urban-based nonprofits providing food, shelter, access to health care, and other services in our pilot communities.

How It Works

  1. Sharitive is in beta. To join, simply create an account at www.sharitive.org/app. Bookmark the page to easily access Sharitive's application from your Home screen.
  2. Earn dollars for purchases and check-ins made at partner businesses.
  3. Donate your Sharitive funds to our nonprofit partners providing critical services in your neighborhood. Additionally, choose to double your impact by matching your Sharitive gift with your own donation, or by pledging your time.

How does Sharitive select nonprofit partners?

Our nonprofit team works closely with community stakeholders including Sharitive business partners and users to identify the pressing needs and interests of each Sharitive location. Sharitive then vets our nonprofit partners for locality and impact. We do this based on site visits, conversations with management and program officers, and 990 analysis.

How can I recommend a nonprofit or cause?

To nominate a nonprofit or cause, email us at info(at)sharitive(dot)org.

How does Sharitive work?

Sharitive’s app is designed to make each stakeholder (business partners, Sharitive users, and nonprofit partners) equal partners in an effort to support their community, without unfairly burdening anyone. That’s why we require a purchase by the Sharitive user before they can receive their Sharitive donation from the business. That’s why we vet our nonprofits to ensure that the organizations we work with are best positioned to address the issues that most directly affect your community.

How do I check in?

To check in, use the 4-digit Sharitive code. Type code into the "Check In" page in Sharitive. Codes are located at the register to ensure a purchase is made.

Where does the dollar that is added to my Sharitive account come from?

The dollar added to your account after a check-in is donated by the business partner at which you made your purchase. Your Sharitive account shows the total number of dollars that have been donated on your behalf.

Can I match my Sharitive donation?

Yes, you can. In the donation process, simply select the amount you would like to match, input your credit card information and process the donation.

Can I volunteer with Sharitive nonprofit partners?

Yes. To volunteer, email volunteer(at)sharitive(dot)org with the name of the nonprofit you’re interested in volunteering for. A member of our nonprofit team will get back to you as soon as possible with next steps.

How can I bring Sharitive to my neighborhood?

Email info(at)sharitive(dot)org to start a pilot in your neighborhood.

I see that Sharitive is in beta. What does that mean?

Sharitive is in the process of testing our program. As Sharitive users, we rely on your feedback to help us improve. Let us know what you think. Email us at info(at)sharitive(dot)org. We want to hear from you.

What’s Sharitive‘s 501 (C)(3) status?

Sharitive’s 501 (C)(3) application is in process. In an effort to be as transparent as possible, we have proactively registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Foreign Corporation and as an out-of-state charity.

Do I receive a tax-deductible receipt for my matched gifts?

Matched gifts will not be tax-deductible until Sharitive's 501 (C)(3) status is approved. Our application is currently in process.

Do I get a tax-deductible receipt for my Sharitive donations?

All funds earned in your Sharitive account have been donated on your behalf. While you allocate them, the tax-deductibility of Sharitive donations is given to the businesses that donated the funds.

Is my information safe?

Sharitive.org is protected by an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate in order to provide security for your information stored in our application. Our third party credit card processor, Stripe, uses stringent security measures to ensure that your information is secured, private, and protected. How much of my Sharitive donation is actually given to the nonprofit I've selected?

During Sharitive's beta, 100% of your Sharitive donation is distributed to the nonprofit you selected.
