Sharitive’s mission is to create new funding and resources for critical urban-based nonprofits providing food, shelter, access to health care, and other services in our pilot communities.
Our nonprofit team works closely with community stakeholders including Sharitive business partners and users to identify the pressing needs and interests of each Sharitive location. Sharitive then vets our nonprofit partners for locality and impact. We do this based on site visits, conversations with management and program officers, and 990 analysis.

Sharitive’s app is designed to make each stakeholder (business partners, Sharitive users, and nonprofit partners) equal partners in an effort to support their community, without unfairly burdening anyone. That’s why we require a purchase by the Sharitive user before they can receive their Sharitive donation from the business. That’s why we vet our nonprofits to ensure that the organizations we work with are best positioned to address the issues that most directly affect your community.
To check in, use the 4-digit Sharitive code. Type code into the "Check In" page in Sharitive. Codes are located at the register to ensure a purchase is made.
The dollar added to your account after a check-in is donated by the business partner at which you made your purchase. Your Sharitive account shows the total number of dollars that have been donated on your behalf.
Yes, you can. In the donation process, simply select the amount you would like to match, input your credit card information and process the donation.
Yes. To volunteer, email volunteer(at)sharitive(dot)org with the name of the nonprofit you’re interested in volunteering for. A member of our nonprofit team will get back to you as soon as possible with next steps.

Sharitive’s 501 (C)(3) application is in process. In an effort to be as transparent as possible, we have proactively registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Foreign Corporation and as an out-of-state charity.
Matched gifts will not be tax-deductible until Sharitive's 501 (C)(3) status is approved. Our application is currently in process.
All funds earned in your Sharitive account have been donated on your behalf. While you allocate them, the tax-deductibility of Sharitive donations is given to the businesses that donated the funds.
